Located just 60 miles east of Chicago, the Greater La Porte area offers many advantages of the big city while having the perks of a smaller community. The City of La Porte, Indiana was founded in 1832 and serves as the County Seat. Today, with a population of about 22,000 residents, it is the county's second largest city, behind Michigan City (32,000).

South Bend Regional, Gary/Chicago, Chicago O'Hare and Midway Airports are all within a 1 1/2 hour drive or less and the La Porte Municipal Airport boasts a 5,000' runway for smaller corporate access. La Porte is the only city in Indiana in which four state highways meet in the center of the city. There is superb rail service from national carriers (Norfolk Southern, CSX, CN) passenger lines (NICTD), and short haul carriers (Chicago South Shore Freight Line).
Quality of life is another great reason to locate your business in the Greater La Porte area. Housing costs are significantly lower than the surrounding areas with a vast variety of settings. Purdue North Central is located in Westville and Ivy Tech has a campus in Michigan City. Lake Michigan is just minutes away and the La Porte area boasts seven lakes of its own. The National Lake Shore and Indiana Dunes State Park are within close proximity and the surrounding communities have award winning park facilities. Blue Chip Casino and Prime Outlet Shopping Center are located just 15 minutes from downtown La Porte.
