Rottinger Named Retention & Expansion Coordinator
La Porte, Ind. (May 10, 2011) — The La Porte Economic Development Alliance (the Alliance) is pleased to announce the hiring of Bob Rottinger as the new Retention and Expansion Coordinator. Mr. Rottinger is replacing Mr. Bert Cook who was instrumental for the initial start-up of the program. Tim Gropp, co-director of the Alliance stated: “We’re excited to have Bob on our staff. His manufacturing management experience will provide immediate value to our efforts. It was crucial to find the right person to continue the momentum established by Mr. Cook.
”Bob has extensive manufacturing experience and has held numerous leadership roles within several manufacturing organizations. He also holds a degree in industrial engineering from Cleveland State University. “Understanding and relating to the issues facing our local businesses is an important component of a successful retention program. I believe my manufacturing operations experience will help foster successful working relationships with the business community”, explained Mr. Rottinger.
Mr. Rottinger will be focusing on meeting with our La Porte county manufacturing and commercial businesses on a bi-annual basis. He will be coordinating with the appropriate local government officials to conduct site visits and to complement the current programs in the City of La Porte and Michigan City. All information collected during the site visits is confidential and is used to identify trends and highlight issues that need to be addressed. This process allows the La Porte County Economic Development Alliance to interact with our businesses, address concerns, work on growth issues, and cultivate local supply chains.
“The Retention and Expansion Program is a priority for the Alliance because most new jobs come from existing businesses. That’s why we want to assist our companies with their issues and growth opportunities from workforce development to recruiting suppliers.,” stated John Regetz Co-Director of the Alliance.
Mr. Rottinger will be contacting your business soon; we encourage you to meet with him and see how the La Porte County Economic Development Alliance may be able to help your business.
